If you’ve been diagnosed with Celiac Disease, and participate in either a FSA (Flexible Spending Account) or HSA (Health Savings Account) through work, you can get reimbursed for any Nima gluten purchase! Since peanut has not shipped yet, we cannot confirm it will also be covered, however, if similar to gluten, we anticipate if diagnosed with a peanut allergy, there may be some coverage options available.
Once you’ve purchased Nima, it’s easy to get reimbursed:
1. Go to your FSA plan’s website. Look for the section titled “Documents” and find the “Letter of Medical Necessity” form.
2. Fill out the section titled “Patient”, then send it to the doctor who diagnosed you with Celiac Disease (or peanut allergy) & ask for his/her signature. Make sure your doctor approves the Nima Sensor AND Capsules!
PRO TIP: Under “Duration of Treatment”, make sure that your doctor writes “Lifetime”. This will ensure that you only need to do this process once, instead of every calendar year!
3. Mail the completed form & your Celiac/peanut allergy diagnosis to your card’s plan administrator. This is usually a P.O. Box, and can be found on your plan’s website. It can take 10 business days for your plan to add the form to your file.
4. File for a reimbursement on your plan’s website. In the “Description” field, select “Over-the-counter Monitors/Test Kits”. Make sure to attach your receipt (Nima emails this confirmation to you as soon as you place your order). Your plan will approve your reimbursement claim in 1-3 business days!
PRO TIP: Get your reimbursement fast – many plans allow you to sign up for direct-deposit to your bank account!
