Nima is a portable device that lets someone test their food for things they do not want to ingest or are trying to avoid. Nima currently tests food for gluten with a test for peanut detection also in development.
If someone is using Nima in your restaurant, it’s likely because eating gluten or other ingredients that Nima can identify will cause them physical harm or discomfort in one way or another. Nima will help them identify gluten (or peanut) in food even when it might have otherwise been missed and having Nima’s information on-hand may even help customers avoid devastating reactions to ingredients in the dishes they're served.
Nima also empowers people who need to avoid specific ingredients to visit places they might otherwise be scared to try, and encourages them to explore their dining options with more information than they've ever had before.
